Methodology

Methodology, confidentiality and limitations

How the free self check is scored, how it differs from a measured audit, how we protect anonymity, and what we do not claim.

How the free self check is scored

The job is to turn twelve opinions into one number out of 100 that a manager can act on nothing more.

01

Every answer is worth points

Strongly disagree is 1, through to strongly agree at 5. No weighting, no reverse-scoring every statement in the self check is worded so that agreeing is the positive answer.

02

The twelve answers become one score

The raw total (12–60) is rescaled onto a familiar 0–100 range: round((total − 12) / 48 × 100). Answer 1 on every question gives 0. Answer 3 throughout gives 50. Answer 5 throughout gives 100.

03

The weakest pillar is a lookup, not a guess

Questions 1–7 each map to one pillar. The weakest pillar is whichever of those seven scored lowest. Questions 8–12 measure how mature your wellbeing measurement is generally, and feed the overall score only they never decide the weakest pillar.

04

The band is a plain-language read of the number

Readiness Score, not Afia Index.

The free self check produces a Readiness Score. The term Afia Index is reserved for measured audits only a 21-question employee survey answered by a whole workforce, not a single person’s estimate of their organisation. If a buyer scores highly on the free self check and lower on a subsequent measured audit, that is not the instrument disagreeing with itself: it is usually the gap between what a manager believes is in place and what employees actually experience. That gap is, deliberately, the entire point of measuring both.

How we protect anonymity in a measured audit

Employees answering the 21-question survey are not Afia Advisory’s customers, and they never agreed to anything with us directly. The protections below are non-negotiable, not configurable.

No login or account for respondents.

No email collection on the survey itself.

No IP address logging or device fingerprinting.

No one-response-per-person enforcement that would require identity by definition.

No group of fewer than five responses is ever reported separately.

Client organisations receive our written reports. They never receive raw, individual responses.

What this site does not claim

The self check is not a clinical, medical or psychological assessment, and diagnoses nothing about any individual.

It is not benchmarked against other organisations we hold no benchmark dataset and claim none.

Any scorecard shown on this site as an example uses synthetic data. It is not a real client result.

We make no claim about any effect on insurance premiums.

We do not publish client results, case studies or testimonials that have not been approved in writing by the person quoted.
